Three things worth knowing
Duty is yours to pay
Ordering from Japan means import duty and local sales tax on arrival. On a $300 bottle that is not a rounding error — work it out before comparing against a domestic shop.
Nama sake needs cold
Unpasteurised sake must stay refrigerated the whole way. If a shop does not say how it ships nama, assume it does not ship it well and buy pasteurised instead.
Provenance matters above $200
Counterfeit Japanese whisky is a real and growing problem at the top of the market. Buy from a retailer with a traceable supply chain, not a marketplace listing.

Can a US sake shop ship to me in the UK or Europe?
No. Alcohol retailers are licensed in the market they operate in, so a US shop cannot deliver to a UK or EU address. Use a UK or EU retailer, or buy direct from a Japan-based exporter that ships internationally.
Do I pay import duty when I buy Japanese whisky direct from Japan?
